You have seen the seemingly countless ads that focus on prescription drugs to reduce the risks for osteoporosis. Osteoporosis is a widespread condition associated with reduced bone mineral density and strength leading to fractions of the bone(s). Risk factors include post menopause, aging, low HGH levels, Caucasian or Asian race, diabetes, metabolic syndrome, sedentary lifestyle and smoking.
Bisphosphonate drugs are the treatment of choice but are associated with serious side effects. They include bone decay of the jaw and atrial fibrillation.
Treatments can be very challenging. Prevention is not. Here are a number of safe and powerfully effective means to prevent the onset of osteoporosis:
- Ingestion of not only calcium (particularly chelated calcium form) but of other major macro minerals such as magnesium and trace minerals such as boron and copper. A Trace Mineral Analysis (aka “Hair Analysis”) will identify which minerals are now and the precise replacements.
- Removal of toxic metals from the system. High doses of Vitamin C along with the aforementioned Hair Analysis will be of huge help here. Hair Analysis will identify which toxic metals are present and what substances can remove them.
- Dried plum extract has been shown in experimental studies and in clinical studies to improve bone structure and function, even in situations in which bone loss was thought to be irreversible.
- The long proven notion of weight training (aka Resistance Training) is a tried and true prevention as well. In fact, here is THE place to start.
Some diseases come from “out of the blue” and are extremely challenging to treat. Some appear untreatable. Osteoporosis is one that can easily be prevented. Thus, one never has to worry about treatment or expensive drugs with serious side effects. Take the time. . . NOW. . . to make the needed lifestyle changes.
Your health is worth it.
